ON THE GO

Pala is located in northern San Diego County (about 50 miles northeast of the city of San Diego - or about 110 miles southeast of Los Angeles.  In other words, a place no one ever goes to -  except maybe to visit the casinos or visit nearby Temecula.

TEMECULA
Temecula is located about 12 miles north of Pala.  Day trippers often visit Temecula to explore it's charming  Old Town, beautiful hill country and to check out some of the nearby wineries with wine tasting and dining rooms.

WHERE IT GOES DOWN

Pala Casino Spa and Resort is owned and operated by the Pala Band of Mission Indians.The casino has over 2,000 slots, table games. The Resort has a day spa, pool, 10 restaurants, 4 entertainment venues and 507 room hotel.

The Infinity Showroom opened May 6, 2011. (Formerly it was the Grand Cabaret room). The new Infinity has been enclosed and upgraded. It offers 900 seats in a intimate theater style setting. The chairs are not fixed and there are booths along the back wall for lounging and dining. It was a new high-end audio and lighting system and several high definition video screens on the walls. There is a bar facility.

The girls took the stage at 7:45 to the music of Music to Watch  Girls By by the Bob Crewe Generation.

SET - GO!

The show was very similar to the recent show at Chumash Casino. However, instead of playing Unforgiven, they played Has the Whole World Lost It's Head?

The stage was sweet and low down. Security was loose. Fans to get as close to the stage as wanted. No problem with moving about and picture taking.

Santa Ynez is located in Santa Barbara County between Los Angeles and San Francisco.  It is located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley - a 30 minute drive from Santa Barbara and just 3 miles west of picturesque community of Solvang, aka the Danish Capital of the United States.

WHERE IT GOES DOWN
The Chumash Casino Resort Hotel is owned and operated by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The resorts has a hotel, spa and an18-and-over 24/7 casino with over 2,000 slots and video games, table games and bingo. There is a cafe/snack bar style in the back of the casino and an upscale restaurant and buffet style restaurant upstairs. No alcohol served on the casino floor. But there is plenty of smoking.

Samala Showroom

The Go-Go's performed in the Samala Showroom. This auditorium style venue has 1,300+ free standing chairs on a gently rising carpeted floor. The venue also boast having a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. Must admit, it did sound good! No alcohol available - however guest were offered complementary coffee and water.


THE GO BEFORE THE SHOW

• Looked for nickel slots. No such slots. Kept my nickels.

• Checked out the merchandise.

• Played the Go-Go trivia game. Ya... this is a real challenge.

• Listened to an assortment of pre-show music featuring female lead singers (Heart, Bondie) etc.

HOW IT GOES
The girls took the stage at 8:15 with the music of Boys Watch the Girls Go By by the Bob Crewe Generation playing.  Love that tune!

READY - SET - GO
At first there were a couple of technical malfunctions. For one thing, Charlotte's guitar amp was not plugged in. Oops! Later there would be a couple wardrobe malfunctions.

Before playing Our Lips Are Sealed the girls asked security to let the fans come forward and be close to the stage. Now we're talkin'!

Back out for the encore, the girls wheel Belinda back out - in a clothes hamper? Gina spins it around a bit.  Dizzy.

HIGH NOTE

• No sloppy drunks in the audience. 
• Fun banter between the girls.
• Appeared to be a lot of family and friends there.
• Great sound.
• Belinda's attractive and colorful top!

LOW NOTE

• No Beatnik Beat. Oh well. It as a bit warm in that room to beat out that one. 
• Not much Gina at the mic this time. 
• All in all - a very good show!
