1970's - L.A.'s Big Arenas


Throughout the 1970's - L.A.'s largest arenas used to stage large capacity rock concerts included: 
  • The Forum, Inglewood (18,700 capacity) Privately owned.  The nation's chief showcase for rock concerts. Opened 1967.
  • Long Beach Sports Arena (14,300 capacity) City owned. Opened 1962.
  • Anaheim Convention Center (9,100 capacity) Opened 1967. 
  • Los Angeles Sports Arena (16,700 capacity) Jointly owned by state, county and city. Opened 1959.
  • Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (92,000 capacity) Jointly owned by state, county and city. Opened 1923.
  • Anaheim Stadium (45,000 - 55,000 capacity) City owned. Opened 1966.
  • Dodger Stadium (56,000 capacity)  Owned by L.A. Dodgers. Opened 1962.
