ON THE GO - Drove down with my daughter to the Happiest Place on Earth - with a fast pass to GoGo-land.
The Grove is located on the northwest corner of the parking lot of Angel Stadium. It is also next to Anaheim's Amtrack/Metrolink Station.
There was an Angel game going on that night as well - but I'll stick with the Dodgers.
THE GROVE - Pretty nice indoor auditorium located about 2 miles from Disneyland. It is operated by Nederlander concerts of Los Angeles, and holds approximately 1,700.
Are we at Warner Bros. or what?
Opening Act - Sid Brown
Sid is a bare chested downtown L.A. performance act. He sings and shakes mean maracas with half-naked girls dancing beside him. For the most part he is accompanied by a lone Brazilian female guitarist.
Best part of Sid's schtick was when Jane came out and go-go danced to Goin' to a Go-Go. You go girl! Looked like quite a workout up there.
GOGOS GET GOING
HOW IT GOES - Terrific show and set list. The crowd was fun. However, the sound was a bit muddled from where I was standing (behind the first rail). It sounded like it wasn't mixed right. Maybe it all went over my head.
Will never forget Forget That Day! It certainly made my day.
Fun to see the girls doing the Rolling Stones' Mother's Little Helper - what a drag it is getting old indeed! Of course they go-goed it up a bit to give it the gogo punch. Well done!
HIGH NOTE - Hearing the girls play Forget That Day! I'll never forget that day - and it sounded great! Don't think they've played this live since 1984. Jane introduced the song by mentioning some of the drama that this song brought to the band.
Worth Noting - The girls were in great form. Jane made a comment about the Miss California USA controversy.
Low Note - No Gina at the mic tonight.
