Take the St. Louis Metro to my hotel for the next 4 nights in the Laclede's Landing district of St Louis MO. Tre Cool.

THE LUMIERE THEATER
The Go-Go's were the first band to inaugurate this great new little venue. The Lumière Theatre is located inside Lumière Place casino. It is on the second floor adjacent near the casino's entrance. It is adjacent to the new Four Seasons Hotel and connected to the Hotel Lumiere by way of a skywalk. The Go-Go's would play for 4 nights! YEAH!!!

The Lumiere Theater has 400 seat. The floor gently upslopes to the the rear - so even those in the rear have unobstructive views. The stage is wide - and lushly framed with a backdrop of red velvet curtains. The stage is only a couple feet off the ground - which provides for a very intimate feel, especially for those standing up close. The sound system and lighting is first rate. This is a terrific little venue.
There are two bars at the rear corners. Plenty of Budweiser all around.

FOR STARTERS - No start up band. Yeah! The Go-Go's went on promptly at 7:15.
CROWD CONTROL - Pretty typical casino crowd with a healthy mixture of true Go-Go
enthusiast represented. I was a little annoyed with the relatively large roped off VIP section - front and center. Jeeeez. Who are these people and how do they rate? Turns out their just casino club high rollers.
HOW IT GOES -The doors opened at 6 pm. The girls came out about 7:15 twirling around to Meet Me in St. Louis ala Judy Garland.
Meet me in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the fair,
Don't tell me the lights are shining
any place but there;
We will dance the Hoochee Koochee,
I will be your tootsie wootsie,
If you will meet in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the fair.
They started things off with crowd-fav Vacation.
That's all it took for me and the most loyal to get out of their seats for the rest of the show.

WORTH NOTING - Jane noting - Isn't it great to go to a show where there is no voice over or pre-recorded music? YES!
Jane noting that way back in the '80's they were one of the first an all girl bands that played their own instruments and wrote their own songs. And today, sadly, things still haven't changed much.
They raffled off a Go-Go autographed guitar after each show. Never won.
GINA AT THE MIC - Commenting on being from Baltimore and her pronunciation of certain words- like oil for all or was it all for oil.
She later encouraged the audiance to get up, come forward and dance.
HIGH NOTES - Kathy's leopard print boots. Tre chic.
LOW NOTES - Too short. In an hour - it was all over.
