Charlotte playing bass for the band the Eyes
Charlotte had strong musical and songwriting skills. This was something the other band members lacked. And she played well with others.
The girls figured it would be good to have a member who could actually play an instrument. Even though Charlotte never played lead guitar, she did have a degree in music and
played a mean bass. She was the one who taught the girls how to plug in their amps and tune the guitars.
Charlotte picked up a red Fender Duo-Sonic and quickly taught herself to play note-by-note melodies. She gradually started to experiment with developing her own style.
Charlotte officially joined the band in July of 1978.
With the addition of Charlotte, things started to take shape.
