LOS ANGELES, CA @ Memorial Coliseum
15th Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk- Los Angeles
Saturday, 10:30 a.m.
Exposition Park (downtown L.A.)
$35.00 Donation
ON THE GO - I had to be at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum by 7:00a.m.!#*! Left the house at 6:45 a.m. and I was on my way!
I was sure to wear my running shoes (walking), running pants and comfortable shirt. This show
would involve a little more physical activity than most.
At least there was no traffic this time of day...except when I got near USC. All the streets comprising the route were closed to traffic. Cops were directing traffic as thousands of people came together at Exposition Park.would involve a little more physical activity than most.
Needless to say, parking was a bear.
I parked at the Coliseum and made my way to the Check-In Area - my runner's bib in hand.
I picked up my official participant t-shirt & Toyota participant bag and watched the opening ceremony hosted by Carrie Ann Inaba (?) & Tom Selleck - along with Revlon Brand Ambassadors Halle Berry and Beau Garrett.
The post celebration concert would be by - The GoGo's!
9:00a.m. - The 5K (3.1 miles) - those who would walk began.
10:00a.m. - I was at the finish line and in the Coliseum. With medallion around my neck and gathered up finish line refreshments and made my way to the stage area.
10:30a.m. - the GoGo concert began. Yeah!

FOR STARTERS - There was a band that preceeded them - but I didn't pay much attention.
They did alot of Motown type stuff. Pretty good.
THE WAY IT GOES - The girls were in great form. They started off with Vacation. However -
it was obvious that Kathy's guitar was not plugged in or something (technical difficulty). Gina came forward to the mic and said - let's start the song over and do it right this time. Yeah! Gotta have Kathy's cool bass lines going to help kick off the set.
I took about a zillion pictures. (150 to be exact). Here are a few.
WORTH NOTING - Sound system was great - considering I was right in their face and in front of a speaker. I thought overall it was a great show...even though it was short and they only played the crowd favorites. Lots of fun. I totally enjoyed it. I've never seen them play at 10:30 am before. At least there was good lighting.
They commented on what a great cause they were playing for and how cancer has touched everyone in the band somehow.
LOW NOTE - When they announced in the middle of the concert that a little boy was lost.
