ON THE GO
Finally- the GoGo's are playing close to home. I get to drive out to beautiful Palm Springs in early April. Life is good. The drive took about 1 1/2 hours. Gorgeous weather the whole time.
Get to do the whole spa thing this time.

Pretty late show for this ol' puppy.

The Palm Springs Convention Center is pretty impressive. Great architecture, and use of glass, stones and rocks.
That same week end a Home Show was being held there. Interesting - for about 5 minutes.
I had to check out where the GoGo's were going to play that night. Looks like a dance floor was being set up in front of the stage.
I got my tail over to the Wyndham Hotel to get the latest info for that night's GoGo show. I must say, there were a lot of frisky little bitches hanging out there. Lots of music blarin' and drinks pourin'- this was the place for serious fun...fun...fun. Most of the action was poolside... We're talkin' Everything but/and Party Time...so - Let's have a Party!
Good thing I luv to swim! Here I come!
I think for the show tonight I'll have to go undercover. Ever have the feeling you were a different specie?
Maybe I could find some board shorts and a tattoo revealing muscle shirt in my size somewhere.

Pretty late show for this ol' puppy.

In front of the stage was a big dance floor. A DJ spun disco music. At the corners of the dance floor were elevated discotheque cages with scantily clad dancers slithering and gyrating away to the disco beat. Lights flashed off the big disco ball in the center.
There was a VIP section on one side and a some stadium seats on the other side. I'd estimate there were probably 300-400 people - 90% female. No surprise here.

I got there at 11:45 and went immediately to the stage and secured my position on the right side. Pretty good vantage spot for such a late comer.
I had to cringe went the MC introduced the band. They said that this was the GoGo's 30 year Reunion show. Sorry - Sorry! This is NOT a REUNION. The GoGo's always have been and always will be. Jeez. -Where have they been the last 30 years anyways? Obviously not at GoGo shows.

Guess who got the set list?

Where did all this water come from?

WORTH NOTING - The girls were a bit less playful with the audience tonight.
Kathy looked a little nervous. Jane and Belinda bantered around a bit.
Belinda's prelude to Skidmarks mentioned her previous job as a secretary taking dictation.
Jane was quick to quip that there was not much interest in dick-tation with this crowd. yuk yuk.
Kathy takes over tambourine duties
get me outta here...
High Notes -Great seeing Jane playing with the girls again after her recent family loss. It all seemed so bitter sweet. It's gotta be difficult. She is so cool. But it is so great seeing you all together again. It's how it should be.
Great sound, full of energy. Cool staging and lighting.
Pretty interesting crowd. Not convinced they all knew all the words to the songs.
Low Notes - Too short! From where I stood I could not see Charlotte very well. But she was wearing the cool Edie Sedgwick t-shirt.
