Charlotte grew up with a whole slew of brothers and sisters:
Brothers: Michael Jr, Ann, Stephen, Dennis,
Sisters: Marie, Rita, Richard, Vincent, Thomas, Joyce, Robert and Sean
Her father, Michael Caffey, was a film and tv producer.

Charlotte attended Catholic schools and began writing music at 15. In the early 1970's she played keyboard in her first band -
Manuel & Gardeners

She went to Immaculate Heart College in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. Charlotte  received a music degree in  1975.

After school she worked at a hospital and taught piano at a local Catholic grammar school. She also worked for a hospital.  In the evenings she would play bass for the Eyes.

Charlotte was very shy in school and did not like being in the spotlight. When asked to be lead guitar in the GoGos, she had no lead guitar experience. She had only played a folk style of strumming before. For the new job she would have to kick it up a notch.

The interesting thing about all this to me is that Belinda and Charlotte Continued to work together post Go-Gos,as might be expected, but in many of Belinda's Solo Efforts you will find not only Charlotte writing songs and playing but also her Husband and 2 of her Brothers(Tom and Richard Caffey).

In the often under rated Album 'Real',as well as writing and playing on most of the songs,on one of them all 4 (Belinda, Charlotte,Tom and Richard) shared the credits in one of the songs on that album.

Just thought you might like to know.
