1978 - January to March Shows

New Year 1978

The New Year started out great!

• Great shows at the Masque and the Whisky
  
• Punks and Punckett's moved into the Canterbury apartments in Hollywood
  

The Masque hosted quite a few shows in January 1978

But then.. on January 17th - the Masque was closed down by the Los Angeles Fire Marshal! Consequently - the highly anticipated upcoming Masque show scheduled for January 20th was canceled. This was a sad day for all.

Until the Masque situation could be worked out, the Whisky took over as primary venue to showcase local talent.

The better local bands now only had the choice of playing at either at either the Whisky or Starwood, benefits shows or at private parties.

Many of the bands that were not very good fell to the way side. The ones left standing represented the best of the lot.
