1977 Belinda the It Girl!

Belinda knew all the right people, went to all the right parties.

See and Be Scene…..

SCENESTERS are effectively people who follow any trend that has become cool.

Belinda became one of the L.A.'s punk music scene it girls. She went at all the right shows, all the right parties and hung out with all the right people. Everyone knew her. Everyone wanted to be like her. This group of scenesters included Pleasant, Lorna, Hellin, Trudie, Excene and all her group of friends.

In the 1977,  the Dickies became an over night sensation. They formed in September of 1977. After only three weeks of rehearsal the band was discovered by L.A. scene-maker, Rodney Bingenheimer. Rodney booked them to appear as a midweek opening act at the Whisky a Go Go. Their set consisted of eight songs.

At this time, the Dickies were:
Leonard Graves Phillips on vocals
Stan Lee on guitar
Chuck Wagon (real name Bob Davis) on keyboards, sax, and guitar
Billy Club (real name Bill Remar) on bass and
Karlos Kabellero (real name Carlos Cabellero) on drums and no vocals.
The Dickies continue to build up a strong local following. They put on very frenetic live shows.

In December 26, 1977 the Dickies opened for the Runaways at the Whisky A Go Go.

Belinda started to show she had drive and ambition. She wanted to participate in the scene - and not just be an observer.

She started to develop her own fashion style.

Belinda always was so purdy. Fun to see these pics; I haven't seen most of 'em before.
